More than 300 elderly individuals in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality benefitted from a free health screening organized by the AMI MAY Foundation on Monday, April 28, 2025. The outreach was held in partnership with the St. Martin de Porres Catholic Hospital, Agormanya.

The screening exercise, which took place at the Parish Hall of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Agormanya, provided critical medical attention to older individuals, many of whom rarely have access to regular health checkups. Some of the participants were referred to the hospital for further clinical investigation.

The AMI MAY Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to supporting the welfare of the elderly, continues to provide care and assistance to senior citizens, particularly those who suffer neglect in their later years.

Speaking to www.krobolandonline.com, Mrs. Mary Ayernor, Founder of the AMI MAY Foundation, emphasized the organization’s ongoing commitment to safeguard, support, and share love with the aged, whom she described as an integral part of society.

“This is not the first initiative of the Foundation in Krobo Land, and it certainly won’t be the last,” she stated. “We hope to expand our efforts, especially in reaching out to aged widows across the communities.”

Dr. Tesa Ayernor, Executive Director of the Foundation, also reaffirmed their dedication to supporting the elderly and widows, recognizing their invaluable contributions to society.

As part of the event, HK Foods donated several boxes of their natural and healthy food supplements to the Foundation. These were distributed to the elderly participants, along with refreshments.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Newman Korkor, speaking on behalf of all recipients, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the AMI MAY Foundation and its partners for bringing this vital health initiative to their doorstep.
