Youth and Women Empowerment (YOWE), a Non-governmental organisation based in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality in partnership with their International Partners, MILLENNIUM PROMISE based in the USA on Thursday, donated gallons of hand sanitizers, Cars and doors Disinfectants, 300 reusable nose masks to the Upper Manya krobo District Emergency Health committee.
The donation is to support their fight against the Corona virus pandemic.
The items include 200 of the nose masks for frontline workers in the District and 100 of the masks for persons living with disabilities in the area.
Mr. Emmanuel Siakwah, Executive Director of Yowe and Mrs. Fiorgbor Mercy, Board Chairperson of YOWE led the delegation to make the presentation.
Hon. Felix Nartey Odjao, DCE for Upper Manya Krobo expressed his heart felt appreciation to the donors for coming to their aid in this trying times.
He assured that the donated items will be put into good use to help in the fight against the Corona virus crisis.
The Hon. DCE used the opportunity to appeal to the good people in his district to adhere strictly to the laid down public health protocols during this challenging times as he hinted that the District Authorities are set to launch a compulsory ‘Mask Wearing’ Campaign in the coming days to help curb the spread of the Corona virus crisis.
Mr. Emmanuel Siakwah, Executive Director of YOWE in an extensive interview with www.kroboland.com after the presentation stated that with their operations having key interest in the well being of the People Living with disabilities, they will do everything within their operational strength to support them in this hard times. Mr. Emmanuel Siakwah hinted that their outfit will be doing similar gesture to the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly in the coming days.
