The Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Emergency health committee led by Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for the area has engage the leadership of Agormanya Market to discuss further ways to decongest the still crowded Agormanya Market after the initial measures seems not to be effective.
After hours of comprehensive discussion and expert advice, the meeting came to the agreement that the market needs further measures to help in the decongestion of the place which will assist to curb the spread of the Corona virus pandemic in the Municipality.
The Municipal Emergency health committee chaired by Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh has proposed the following measures starting Sunday 17th May, 2020.
The Agormanya main Market will commence to observe 7 days market including the initial Wednesdays and Saturdays which has been closed down due to the Covid-19 pandemic crisis.
Secondly, the current location of the Market shall only accommodate traders of non-foodstuffs as treders in foodstuffs will relocate to the Lassi Park at Odumase until further notice.
The Hon. MCE tasked the Municipal Covid-19 tasks force made up of the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service, NADMO and officers from the Municipal Assembly Tasks Force to strictly enforce the directives by the President of the Republic of Ghana and anyone who goes against the law must be put before the Court of law for trial.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh mades it clear that any unapproved gathering including gatherings at community game centres, over crowded Lorry Stations, Religious, social and cultural gatherings among others are against the Law and the task force must monitor such centers and make arrests where necessary.
The Municipal Emergency health committee members inspected the situation at the Lassi Park as some recommendations have been made by some of the members to best put the place in good shape to accommodate the foodstuffs traders in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.
