A traditional delegation from the Middle Belt of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, led by Nene Tetteh Odeopior, Chief of the Middle Belt, paid a courtesy call on the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. John Atteh Matey. The visit was to officially congratulate him on his appointment and successful confirmation as MCE, as well as to familiarize with his office.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Nene Tetteh Odeopior conveyed their heartfelt congratulations and pledged their full support to the MCE’s administration. He assured Hon. Matey of the traditional authorities’ commitment to collaborating with him to ensure the development and progress of the area.

During the meeting, the delegation took the opportunity to highlight some pressing issues affecting the Middle Belt, including poor road infrastructure, lack of electricity in some areas, inadequate telecommunications connectivity, and challenges with educational facilities.

In response, Hon. John Atteh Matey directed the Municipal Roads Engineer—who was present at the meeting—to immediately conduct a comprehensive assessment of the road conditions in the Middle Belt. The findings, he said, would guide urgent action to enhance the road network, ease transportation, and improve the movement of farm produce to markets, ultimately boosting livelihoods.

Hon. Matey further assured the traditional leaders that he would work closely with government appointees from Krobo Land to address the identified challenges. He promised that by the end of his tenure, significant improvements would be visible in the living standards of residents across the Middle Belt of the Municipality.
