The Odumase-Krobo District Police Command of the Ghana Police Service, under the Akosombo Division in the Eastern Region, has organized a one-day capacity-building workshop for Honourable Assembly Members in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.

The workshop, held under the theme “Sustaining Peace and Protecting the Peace: The Role of the Assembly Member,” was an enlightening and educative session facilitated by ASP Augustine K. Asante Kusi, the District Crime Officer.
The primary objective of the session was to equip Assembly Members with the necessary knowledge and tools to actively contribute to peacebuilding and ensure security within their respective communities.
During the workshop, ASP Asante Kusi, along with other senior police officers from the area, delivered presentations emphasizing the critical role of Assembly Members in maintaining peace and order. They highlighted the importance of collaboration between the police and local government representatives, stressing that community policing can only be effective when stakeholders such as Assembly Members actively support police operations.
ASP Asante Kusi encouraged the Assembly Members to approach the police freely with any relevant information that could help maintain peace and security. He assured them of a cordial and collaborative working relationship moving forward.
ASP Bright Kwabena Asare, Commander of the Odumase-Krobo District Police Command, expressed sincere gratitude to the Assembly Members and stakeholders for their continuous support. He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to effective community policing under his leadership.
Hon. Gideon Oblanda Totroku, Assembly Member for the Odumase South Electoral Area and Chairman of the Assembly’s Justice and Security Sub-Committee, lauded the police administration’s initiative. He commended the leadership for their proactive steps toward enhancing peace and security in the municipality and pledged the full cooperation and support of the Assembly Members.
