Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality has appealed to the general public within the Municipality to play active role in the fight against the Corona virus pandemic.
The Hon. MCE made this statement after the second successive fumigation exercise of the markets, lorry stations as well as some public gathering places as part of government’s committed quest to curb the spread of the Corona virus.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh applaud the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development under the able leadership of Hon. Hajjia Alima Mahama for the numerous supports given the Assembly in the fight against the Corona virus pandemic.
He further acknowledged the fact that some people in the area are not taking the fight against the Corona virus pandemic serious by not wearing their nose masks as well as not following the laid down public health protocols anymore which is dangerous because they can contract the virus and as well affect others if care is not taken.
“Government will continue to do his part and as responsible citizens we must also play our part by following the Presidential directives”
The Hon. MCE concluded by cautioning the general public to take the Presidential directives in regards to the Corona virus pandemic fight very serious since the Municipal Assembly Covid-19 emergency task force with Support from some security agancies will start with random checks and if found guilty will be dealt with by the law.
Tebel Ghana Limited, a private waste management firm who are experts in fumigation were in charge of the exercise in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality as similar exercises were under taken in all the 32 MMDA’S in the Eastern Region.
