Health workers from the Odumase Health Center in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region marked World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2023 on Monday, May 29th, 2023, which fell on Sunday, May 28th, with the girls of Akro Technical SHS.

The team from the Odumase Health Center, which was led by Victoria Poavri, Head of the Center, gave the gathering of female students and teachers comprehensive indigenous and modern ways of managing menstruation since it’s a normal occurrence in the life of the female gender, as they donated sanitary pads to be distributed to the students as part of their fair share of supporting the girl child.

The female student community, through their leadership, expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the leadership of the Odumase Health Center and their donors for making time out of their busy schedules to share this all-important time with them and making this all-important donation to support the less privileged girls amongst them since many of such underprivileged girls end up in the wrong hands just for little sums of money to buy menstrual pads.

The female student populations appealed to the government and other stakeholders to actively work hard to see how they can make menstrual pads cheaper in this country in the best interest of safeguarding the girl child for a better future.

Some medical students from the higher institutions of medical studies who are with the team from the Odumase Health Center on this all-important outreach program contributed actively to this community support initiative.
