Mad. Helen Padikie Tettey, mother of the Quintuplets who were delivered on Wednesday 13th July, 2022 at the St. Martin de Porres Hospital, Agormanya broke in tears as Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality absorbed all their Medical bills and gave her GHC 1,000 before their referral to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra.
Their total medical bills amounting to GHC 2,500.00 was settled by the Hon. MCE to enable their smooth referral to higher facility for proper management.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh in the early hours of Thursday 14th July, 2022 visited the Kindermision Maternity (Mother & Baby Unit) at the St. Martin de Porres Hospital, Agormanya to check on the Mother of the Quintuplets and her babies, upon his arrival he was informed of the decision made by the medical team of the facility to move the Mother and Babies to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra for intensive care and advanced medical management.
Dr Dennis Dela Mensah, Medical Officer overseeing the pediatric wards (NICU and Children’s ward ) at the St. Martin de Porres Hospital, Agormanya stated that because the babies are Pre Term and the facility currently not having adequate incubators, baby monitors among other equipments needed to best manage such situations, it will be in the best interest of the babies to be moved to a higher facility to safeguard both the mother and her babies from the unexpected.
Upon adequate arrangements made by the Management of St. Martin de Porres Hospital, Agormanya and the Hon. MCE for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh both Mother and her 5 girls left the St. Martin de Porres Hospital, Agormanya barely some few minutes after Midday on Thursday 14th July, 2022 for advance management.
Dr. Bansah Miriam Theodorah, Medical Officer at the St. Martin de Porres Hospital, Agormanya in an exclusive interview with www.krobolandonline.com used the opportunity to appeal to the general public, Government, social agancies, NGOs among others to donate Incubators, Monitors among other modern health care delivery equipments to the St. Martin de Porres Hospital, Agormanya for them to be able to save lives as they’re committed to always give their all in line of quality health care delivery.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for area in a separate interview with the media also appeals to the general public most especially proud sons and daughter from the Krobo Land area to always look back and support the institutions back home most especially the health sector in the area which is under resource despite the number of Committed health professionals in the area for them to be able to deliver on their mandate and he as the Government representative here will always do his best to support his people especially in this trying times.
