Glowax Education Consult, a Non-governmental organisation which is into providing topnotch and result driven counseling and guidance and related opportunities for teachers and students has organised a Menstrual Hygiene Summit for school girls in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.

The first edition of the Menstrual Hygiene Summit was held at Somanya to mark the the World Menstrual Hygiene Day.

The CEO of Glowax Education Consult, Gloria Dede Kwao addressing the gathering of Opinion Leaders, Stakeholders in the Education Sector as well as Teachers and girl students drawn from selected JHS and SHS in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality adviced the young adolescents to focus on their future goals now rather than involving in immoral arts which have the high probability of affacting their future and that of Mother Ghana since they’re the future leaders.

Mad. Gloria Dede Kwao continued to appeal to all the stakeholders present to help in providing responsible guidance to the young adolescents in the society since their upbringing and guidance will have great impact on who they will become in the near future.

She concluded by assuring the gathering of their committed intention to extended this all important Menstrual Hygiene Summit beyond the Krobo Land area to offer them the opportunity to give this all important Menstrual Hygiene education to the young adolescents who are forced to do things that are not good to their Menstrual health due to lack of relevant informations from credible sources like these highly educated and responsible facilitators as she used the opportunity to acknowledge their main partners on this project, AMZ Female Empowerment Project and the Ghana Education Service for their cooperation.

Dr. Joyce Akumaa Dongotey-Padi known in public life as Akumaa Mama Zimbi, a Proud Krobo Woman From Somanya, a Ghanaian women’s rights leader, TV and radio broadcast journalist, actress and marriage counsellor who was the guest speaker at the Summit entreated the young girls to take encouragement from her story as she was raised from the Krobo Land area but today she is an International personality through hard work and determination.

She caution them to be very careful with the friends their pick in both school and out of school since bad companies will have great effects on their future ambitions.

Akumaa Mama Zimbi reaffirm her commitment to keep supporting and educating the girl child through similar projects and initiatives as she pledged her outmost support to the Glowax Education Consult Menstrual Hygiene Summit initiative.

The female students from the selected schools who were present at the Summit received Sanitary Pads from the AMZ Female Empowerment Project who are the main partners on the project.

The Summit which was chair by Niine Inkumsah Sarpong(Mrs) has other great dignitaries like Alimatu-Saadia Zakaria(UESD), Daniel Ofori-Mintah(UESD), Rebecca Ametepey Abigail Dedo Asare and Rev. J. B. Lawerteh among others.
