Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana CocoBod, Hon. Joseph Boahen Aidoo have deeply expressed his appreciation to the chiefs and elders of Sefwi Yamatwa in the Western North Region for making him the newly Sumpahene of the traditional area.
In an official Facebook post by the Hon. JB Aidoo cited by Kroboland.com deeply expressed his gratitude for the Chiefs, Elders and People of the traditional area for the bestowment to honour him with the Sumpahene of the town.
“I am deeply grateful to the Chiefs, Elders and People of Sefwi Yamatwa for the honour bestowed on me by making me the Sumpahene of the town and endowing me with the traditional powers of an Nkosuohene. It came as a very pleasant surprise and a great honour indeed” the post reads.
He said such recognition often came as a cheerily unexpected and a great honour, pledging that he would support the development of town’s within it’s traditional catchments to better the lives of cocoa farmers and Ghana at large.
“As I stated last night, I pledge my support to the town’s development agenda and to continue to implement interventions to restore and improve the lives of cocoa farmers all over Ghana”
“This include the plan to expand and intensify the cocoa rehabilitation programme to restore the likelihoods of farmers, whose farms are affected by the cocoa swollen shoot virus disease” Sumpahene of Sefwi Yamatwa JB Aidoo expressed further.
‘JB’ as affectionately called and doubles as CEO of Ghana COCOBOD thereafter used the opportunity to once again thanked all citizenry for the honour vested to him as “Sumpahene”.
