Three people were confirmed dead in a fatal incident on the Asesieso-Somanya Trom Junction road in the Eastern Region involving a Toyota Fish mini van with registration number GT 5990-21 on route from Accra to Kpong.
The three dead bodies out of the 13 victims who were rushed to the New Yilo Krobo District Hospital, including a young female teacher publicly known as Narkie Sangmor Mabel, were all deposited at the Mortuary of the Yilo Krobo District Hospital.
Speaking to the driver, Stephen Tetteh Narh, 32 years old, who was the only person rushed to the Atua Government Hospital in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality after his emergency management, he confirmed to www.krobolandonline.com that he noticed his brake system failed totally just after the Asesieso Township and was about to make the Asesieso mountain descend. Upon several emergency attempts, he lost control over the vehicle, crashing into the bush, before hearing the sad news of the passing of three people, including his mate, as he broke into tears on his recovery bed at the Atua Government Hospital.
The driver, despite having several injuries to his left arm, was very stable as he was receiving treatment at the Atua Government Hospital.
Our team can count barely 4 people being prepared for referral from the New Yilo Krobo District Hospital to high facilities due to conditions above their safe health care delivery services.
This sad incident occurred late in the afternoon of Monday, April 22nd, 2024.
The police and other security agencies have taken over the situation for further investigation into the sad incident.
