In the early hours of Wednesday, April 30th, the Management of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Hospital, Agormanya, officially launched a Free Pragia Ride service for its clients. The service will operate between Roman Junction and the hospital, providing a convenient and free transportation option for clients, especially the elderly, pregnant women, and seriously ill patients who face challenges walking to the hospital.

The new initiative, centered on client relief, aims to ease access to healthcare for vulnerable members of the community. The eco-friendly electric tricycle—commonly referred to as a “Pragia”—runs solely on battery power and aligns with the hospital’s commitment to sustainability and accessibility.

During a short ceremony held on the hospital grounds, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Richlove Ofori Adamptey, Chaplain of the hospital, blessed the brand-new electric tricycle and officially commissioned it for service, dedicating it to the service of God and humanity.

In his address, Mr. Emmanuel Bosompim, the hospital administrator, emphasized that the Pragia ride service is entirely free of charge. “Clients should never pay anything to the rider,” he stated firmly.

Mr. Bosompim further noted that under the current management, the hospital is committed to giving back to the greater community. He highlighted recent initiatives such as the comprehensive free NHIS registration and renewal exercise held in March. He assured the public that efforts are ongoing to transform St. Martin de Porres Catholic Hospital into a one-stop healthcare facility in Ghana—an aspiration steadily being realized with the support of the public and stakeholders.
