Professor Lord Mensah, Head of the Local Government Service, has entreated the Management of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly to, as a matter of urgency, provide a creche facility for nursing mothers working at the Assembly.

He made this call during his recent familiarisation tour of the Eastern Region, when he paid a working visit to the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality. According to him, the establishment of a creche will give nursing mothers the needed comfort and peace of mind to fully concentrate on their duties, knowing that their babies are safe and close by during working hours.

Professor Lord Mensah also commended Management and staff of the Assembly for their smooth administrative management, citing the Assembly’s performance reports over the past years. However, he challenged them to “go for the gold” by deepening public understanding of the Local Government System, urging the Assembly to actively involve the people of Lower Manya Krobo in governance and decision-making processes.

The visit forms part of ongoing efforts to engage local authorities, assess ongoing programmes, and strengthen collaboration within the Local Government Service.
