MTN Ghana Foundation has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital to equip the facility in the fight against COVID-19.
The items included 4000 pieces of N95 Nose masks, 20 cartons of Surgical gloves, 40 contactless Thermometers, 3000 pieces of Face shields and 50 gallons of Methylated spirit.
Presenting the equipment, the Senior Manager of MTN Ghana Foundation, Mr. Robert Kuzoe noted that the gesture is to help Government Institutions fight Covid 19. He said the Foundation has supported several government’s agencies since the outbreak of the virus and has purposed to continue to provide adequate resources to institutions such as Korle Bu.
Receiving the items, the CEO of KBTH Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah expressed his gratitude and noted that though the pandemic has affected a lot of companies, the hospital is glad that the MTN Ghana Foundation has found it worthy to support Korle Bu and other government institutions in the country.
He further encouraged the general public to continue to strictly adhere to the covid protocols to stay safe. “The fight is not over yet. We don’t want any third wave. Let’s maintain the safety measures” he added.
The CEO assured the Foundation that the items would be used for their intended purposes and said he looked forward for more collaborations in the future for the benefit of patients.
