The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Lower Manya Krobo, Hon. John Atteh Matey, has assured the management of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Hospital in Agormanya of maximum government support as they continue to play a vital role in delivering modern healthcare across Krobo Land and beyond.

This assurance was given during a courtesy visit to the Hon. MCE by a delegation from the hospital led by Mr. Emmanuel Bosompim, Hospital Administrator, and Rev. Fr. Moses Kofi Huadji, Parish Priest of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Agormanya, who also serves as the Diocesan Bishop’s Representative on the Hospital Board.

Hon. John Atteh Matey expressed his appreciation for the hospital’s crucial contributions to healthcare and promised a renewed and focused approach to addressing issues affecting the institution. He emphasized that facilities like St. Martin de Porres Catholic Hospital deserve the highest regard due to their service to the entire municipality and surrounding communities.
On behalf of the management and staff, Mr. Emmanuel Bosompim congratulated the Hon. MCE on his appointment and successful confirmation. He pledged the hospital’s full support and cooperation throughout his tenure.
Mr. Bosompim also presented some pressing concerns of the hospital to the MCE. These included:
Lack of attention from the Municipal Assembly
Security challenges, especially for staff on night duty
High rent costs for hospital staff
Absence of speed ramps at the hospital junction, leading to frequent accidents
He appealed to the Hon. MCE to use his office to help resolve these issues, which are hampering smooth hospital operations.

In response, Hon. Matey acknowledged his prior awareness of many of these challenges due to his long-standing presence and leadership in the area. He reiterated his commitment to working closely with the hospital’s management to support and enhance their life-saving operations in the interest of the people of Lower Manya Krobo and the entire Krobo Land.
