More tertiary students have received relief support under the Manya Krobo Rural Bank PLC Scholarship Scheme, as a total amount of GHS212,779.59 was disbursed to over 54 beneficiaries today at the bank’s headquarters at Abanse in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.

Many other approved beneficiaries are yet to receive their support as part of the scholarship scheme aimed at assisting students pursuing tertiary education.

The short ceremony brought together some of the beneficiaries, their parents, and members of the bank’s management team to witness the presentation.

This year’s disbursement marks a significant improvement in the scholarship scheme. Last year, the bank spent GHS90,000.00 on scholarships for brilliant but needy students. However, this year’s scholarship awards have seen a substantial increase following a decision by the Board and Management to support more students pursuing tertiary education.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Godfred Asante Hanson, CEO of Manya Krobo Rural Bank PLC, reaffirmed the bank’s strong commitment to its corporate social responsibility, emphasizing that the institution remains dedicated to investing in education and community development.

He encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of the support they have received, as well as the sacrifices made by their parents and guardians, by studying hard and becoming responsible individuals who will contribute positively to the development of Ghana.

The ceremony was also attended by members of the bank’s management team, who witnessed the presentation.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Tawiah Margaret Mamle, a student of Mount Mary College of Education, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Board, management, and staff of the bank for the support.

She further appealed to members of the community to continue banking with the institution, noting that the bank consistently gives back to the community through initiatives such as educational support and other community development programmes.
