Playmore Africa, a Non-governmental organisation who are into sports initiatives as part of their flagship youth baseball development programme on Friday 18th June, 2021 organised a baseball clinic at Doryumu in the Shai-Osudoku District.
100 Students from two Private schools in the area received professional Baseball training from the team from Playmore Africa led by Mr. Kofi Frimpong, Professional youth baseball trainer who is Ghanaian based in the Sweden who doubled as the Founder and lead Coach of Playmore Africa.
The schools were Faith Roots International Academy and Habitat Crystal Academy. Students from the Basic levels to the Junior high school levels from the beneficiary schools received professional instructions in baseball which is one of the international sports full of opportunities in the outside world.
Damon Newman, an American Baseball star who is in the country on a special invitation by the Playermore Africa was part of the unique team of Baseball Professionals of who took the young Ghanaian students in the Shai-Osudoku District through the basic introduction to the Unique Sports of Baseball.
Mr. Kofi Frimpong, founder and Lead Coach of Playmore Africa in an interview with www.krobolandonline.com emphasized that this all important initiative is to give more international opportunities to student-athletes since Baseball is of more international advantages especially students who wanted to join education with the games.
Mr. Kofi stated that the first phase of this program will focus more on basic, Junior high schools and Senior high schools in the Greater Accra Region and the Eastern Region of Ghana as they will be focusing more on encouraging the girl Child in getting involved in this international sports with more potentials and opportunities since baseball has been of great help to himself in his educational journey.
Mr. Kofi Frimpong of Playmore Africa assured that as a Proud citizen of the Republic of Ghana, he is going to give his all in his committed quest to take this all important international sports with opportunities to all the 16 regions of Ghana over the time as they are ready to introduce Baseball to the entire Africa continent within the shortest possible time.
Mr. Kofi Frimpong used the opportunity to appeal to corporate groups and individuals to partner and support Playmore Africa to be able to give more Africa Children international opportunities through sports especially the Girl Child living in the less privileged societies in Ghana and Africa at Large.
