The Akosombo Police Division in the Eastern Region of Ghana has successfully organized a 2-day capacity building workshop for its Investigators and Prosecutors. The workshop brought together officers from all four district commands under the division—Odumase-Krobo, Akuse, Somanya, and Akosombo—under the able leadership of Chief Superintendent Doris Grant.

Held at the Royal Hotel in Somanya and concluded on Saturday, July 12, 2025, the workshop was aimed at sharpening the investigative and prosecutorial skills of officers within the Division. It was facilitated by seasoned legal professionals, including officers from the Office of the State Attorney and other experts in the legal field. The focus was to enhance officers’ understanding of legal procedures and improve the quality of service delivery in the justice system.

In her closing address, Chief/Supt. Doris Grant urged participants to take the lessons seriously, emphasizing that the knowledge shared will significantly reduce client dissatisfaction and improve professional standards. She reassured her officers of continuous leadership support and revealed that more capacity-building programmes are being planned in collaboration with various levels of Police Administration.

All participants were awarded certificates of participation, jointly signed by the State Attorney and the Akosombo Divisional Police Commander.

Speaking to www.krobolandonline.com, Chief/Supt. Doris Grant expressed gratitude to all corporate and private individuals who supported the successful organization of the workshop. She also appealed to the public and corporate bodies to partner with the Akosombo Police Division to facilitate more of such important training initiatives.

Finally, she extended her heartfelt appreciation to the Office of the State Attorney for their immense contribution in equipping her officers with vital legal knowledge.
