Mr. Freeman Gobah, Country Director of Pencil of Promise, a Non-governmental organisation reaffirm their commitment to keep supporting the Education sector in the country.
He made this statement during the official Commissioning of the newly renovated 6-Unit Classroom for the Primary and 2-Unit KG Classroom block with ancillary facilities for the New Somanya Resettlement community which they carried out in partnership with VRA Resettlement Trust Fund.
Mr. Freeman Gobah assured that the Organization under his watch will continue to do more through their series of educational support programs such as the Teacher Support Programs, E-Learning programs which has seen them distributes several electronic tablets in the Project schools in their operational Regions.
He continued to say that just about five(5) of their operations in Ghana, they have Provide 182 completed Classroom blocks and 14 Classroom Block projects currently ongoing in the 3 Administrative regions that they’re currently working namely, Eastern Region , Volta Region and the Oti region.
Mr. Freeman Gobah stated that he hope to have the continuous cooperation and collaboration from cooperate agencies and stakeholders from their Project areas since that’s the only way to do more to improve the standards of living in some of the deprived areas they found themselves through Education and Sanitation programs.
He concluded by acknowledging the collaboration from their partners, VRA Resettlement Trust Fund as well as the good people of the New Somanya Resettlement community which saw the transformation of these 2 dilapidated Classroom block with ancillary facilities for smooth and effective teaching and learning which will go a long way to raise the future leaders of the Community as well as Mother Ghana at Large.
Mr. Richard Twum Barimah, executive director of the VRA Resettlement Trust Fund expressed his heartiest appreciation to Pencils of Promise team for this outstanding partnership which is leading to massive infrastructure transformation in several of their Resettlement Communities around the country.
Mr. Twum Barimah further tasked the Leadership of the Community to own the project by practicing very responsible maintenance culture which is the best way to protect the investment made into these infrastructure projects which are for the community.
Mr. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng assured the Resettlement of his commitment to keep working hard to better the lives of Resettlers in the 52 Resettlement Communities around the country.

The Hon. MCE further expressed his appreciation to good people of the New Somanya Resettlement community for the dedication and commitment shown during the construction stages of these all important projects which has brought great relief to the Education sector in the Municipality since the Assembly limited resources cannot undertake this initiatives easily as he appeals to the good people of the community to own the project by maintaining it.
Nene Odjidji, Chief of New Somanya Resettlement community on behalf of the entire community applause the Executive director of VRA Resettlement Trust Fund, Mr. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng for living upto his words since his barely 2 and half years leadership at the Trust Fund has brought transformation to the area as they now have a Modern Police Post, 6-Unit Teachers Bungalow and now have their dilapidated 8-Unit Classroom block with ancillary facilities renovated into a modern place for teaching and learning.
Nene Odjidji assured Pencils of Promise that this kind gesture done their community in partnership with VRA Resettlement Trust Fund will never be forgotten as he appeals to them to take the new Somanya Resettlement community as one of their project communities to enable them benefit from their series of other initiatives.
