MCE for Lower Manya Krobo, Mr. Simon Kweku Tetteh, has assured government continues support for farmers within the municipality.
He made this statement in his address during the Research Extension Linkage Committee (RELC) meeting held at Kpong.
RELC is Planning Session involving all stakeholders along the Agric Value Chain including input dealers, farmers, processors, marketers, transporters among other.
This annual gathering is to bring out the constraints in the Agro business for solutions in terms of Research, Extension or Policy to help all the stakeholders in the Agric Value Chain.
Hon. Simon Kweku in his address stated that since he has assumed office as the Municipal Chief executive for the area, he has make sure the good people of the Lower Manya Krobo benefited from all the government Agriculture development and improvement policies such as Planting for food and jobs, Planning for Export and Rural Development, Free Fertilizer for farmers and Free Mango seedlings for farmers among others.
He concluded by saying that, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has the farmers at heart and his leadership will do more for the farmers as several rural roads in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality were earmarked for face-lift to aid them in easy transportation of their farm produce to the market centers.
Mr. Jeoffery Honu and Mr. Evaristus Fosu from the Eastern Regional Agric Office who came to monitor the program applause the Hon. MCE for making time to address the gathering since it hardly happened at several places they have been to.
The Hon. MCE and his entourage took the opportunity to visit the Lower Manya Krobo Agric Office maize and cassava experimental farmers as he applauded the Agric officers in his Municipality for the good job they are doing through comprehensive research.
Mr. Goodswill Komla Glante, Municipal Agric director assured the Hon. MCE that the Agric extension officers under is leadership will keep researching and experimenting some of the best farming practices to help the farmers and the entire Agriculture sector in the area.
