The VRA Resettlement Trust Fund has commissioned a 6-Unit teachers bungalow for New Somanya Resettlement Community in the Yilo Krobo Municipality.
The modern residential facility which construction lasted for four month cost GHC 368,000.00.
Mr. Richard Twum Barimah, Executive Director at VRA RTF, Hon. Magnus Kofi Amoatey, MP for the Yilo Krobo Constituency who is a board member at the Trust Fund in-Charge of Finance & Administration and Hon. Kwabena Amankwah Asiamah who is also a Board member at the Trust Fund in Charge of Projects and Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa North led the delegation from the Trust Fund to officially hand over the project to the Municipal Assembly and the Resettlement Community.
Yilo Krobo Municipal Director of Education, Veronica A. Tetteh in her speech said the residencial accommodation being the first in the area will go a long way to improve teachers and students contact hours since the teachers will be staying on the same campus, adding that, it is a welcoming news to the Municipal Education Directorate and all their stakeholders.
She assured her commitment to ensure that the infrastructure investment goes a long way to improve the performance of the students expressing her heart felt appreciation to the VRA RTF for this magnificent edifice.
Hon. William Owuraku Aidoo, Deputy Minister of Energy (In Charge of power) who was the special guest of honor at the commissioning ceremony applaud the Leadership of the VRA Resettlement Trust Fund for this huge investment into education.
He said in line with the vision of President Nana Akufo-Addo to invest into the education, the achievement of the Trust Fund is in due support of the President ambitions.
He advised the leadership and Stakeholders of the Yilo Krobo Municipality to practice high level of maintenance culture which is the best way to protect this state investment in education in their area.
Hon. Magnus Kofi Amoatey, the MP for the area in his brief speech tasked the community to own the projects the Trust fund has already constructed for them and the one they’re commissioning which is the best way to protect the infrastructure investments.
He as well appeals to the teachers and the educational stakeholders to put in place measures to arrange for evening study period for the pupils since some number of the teachers will now be staying on campus to help improve the performance of the students.
Hon. Kwabena Amankwah Asiamah, VRA RTF board member in-Charge project who led the delegation from the trust fund in his address stated that the New Somanya Resettlement Community has benefited several project within the past few years including the new Police Station and a Water Project among others.
He assure them that they will continue to receive other projects from the trust fund and its cooperate partners if only they continue to take took good care of the existing projects since that’s the best way to attract other donors to come and support their area.
He concluded by applauding the current leadership of the VRA RTF for the several infrastructure improvement successes they have chop by providing several infrastructure developments in the 52 Resettlement communities in Ghana during their tenure as they look forward to do more with support for their partners.
The VRA Resettlement Trust Fund, the resettlement Town development Committee and the Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly under the leadership of Hon. Ebenezer Tetteh Kupualor, MCE for the area officially signed an agreement which stated clearly the aftermath maintenance protocols of the commissioned project.
