Theme: “Establishing Strong Foundations in Literacy; One Book At A Time”

The Somanya Methodist Junior High School, a modern public basic school in the Yilo Krobo Municipality, successfully held its 4th Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, July 25th, 2025. The event was organized under the able leadership of the headteacher, Madam Believe A. Amoah, and carried the inspiring theme:
“Establishing Strong Foundations in Literacy; One Book At A Time.”

The colourful and memorable occasion was graced by several dignitaries, notably the Yilo Krobo Municipal Director of Education, Mr. John K. Gasu, who delivered a keynote address. In his speech, Mr. Gasu urged parents and caregivers to take active and supportive roles in their children’s academic and personal development, emphasizing the shared responsibility of home and school in raising well-rounded individuals.

Headteacher Madam Believe A. Amoah, in her closing remarks, congratulated the graduating students and encouraged them to strive for excellence as they step into the next phase of their academic journey. She called on the outgoing students to become worthy ambassadors of Somanya Methodist JHS, with a hope that they will one day return to support and inspire the future generations of the school.

The event was marked by performances, awards, and a renewed commitment to literacy and education within the Yilo Krobo community.
