The Hon. MCE for Yilo Krobo Municipality, Hon. Ebenezer Tetteh Kupualor and the Yilo Krobo Constituency NPP Parliamentary candidate, Mr. Francis Djetse Apertey in the early hours of Tuesday 13th October broke the ground for the construction of a Modern Slaughterhouse at Somanya.

The long awaited slaughterhouse which will replace the dilapidated existing facility is expected to be completed in 3 months and will cost GHC 378,857.00.


Alhaji Salifu Yaro, Chief Butcher at the Somanya Slaughterhouse applaud the NPP government especially the Yilo Krobo Constituency Leadership for coming to their aid.

He continue to say that the current situation of the Slaughterhouse has been a great headache to himself, the Muslim community in the area as well as all the Young man in the Meat business since the situation is not hygienic at all which poses a health threat to the general public.

Alhaji Salifu Yaro assured that himself and the entire Muslim fraternity at Somanya will support this project in all ways possible to see the completion of the project.

Mr. Francis Djetse Apertey in his address emphasized that the New Patriotic Party has the development of the Yilo Krobo Constituency at heart since they have done more in terms of the existing infrastructure and the new ones they’re currently constructing under the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led NPP government.

He appeal to the gathering to give him the opportunity to serve the good people of the Yilo Krobo Constituency as their Member of Parliament by voting massively for H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and himself coming December 7 general elections and he can assure them of more developmental projects.

Hon. Ebenezer Tetteh Kupualor appeals to the gathering to express their appreciation to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the numerous infrastructure projects given the area by voting massively for the President and their Parliamentary Candidate, Mr. Francis Djetse Apertey for them to do more for the good people of Ghana.

He said if not at all the Yilo Krobo Municipality can now boast of the new University of Environment and Sustainable Development – Somanya which the second phase of the project is currently underway and the soon to be commissioned modern 80 beds Municipal Hospital among the several infrastructure projects executed on the current NPP government.
