Pencils of Promise, a Non-governmental organisation as part of their commitment to Support education in Ghana on Wednesday 22nd September, 2021 donated Dangme Text Books to 12 Schools in the Krobo Land area of their operations.
The Presentation was under their literacy Project which is aimed at helping both students and teachers to have fruitful lesson sessions in the schools for a better future of the Pupils.
All 12 Pencils of Promise Partner schools in 3 MMDA’S namely Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, Yilo Krobo Municipality and Asuogyaman District received Dangme Reading Text Books For Basic 1-6 to help in teaching and learning of the mother tongue of the area which is predominantly Krobos.
The Beneficiary schools are ; Kpong Ahundzo R/C Basic, Odumase Akro M/A Primary, Okwenya M/A Primary, Nkrankan Presby Primary, Bueyonye M/A Primary, Oborpah Djikiti M/A Primary, Oborpah East M/A Primary, Tortibo D/A Basic, Akosombo Ketem M/A Primary, Sapor D/A Basic, Yonguase M/A Primary and Akuse Presby Primary School.
Gifty Nyamashi, Teacher Support Officer at Pencils of Promise speaking at the short Presentation ceremony which was held at Odumase Akro Basic School entreat the gathering of Teachers, Headteachers and stakeholders in the education section in the area to put this all important Books into good use since it’s important for the young pupils to best understand their mother tongue.
She continued to assure them of continuous support and cooperation from Pencils of Promise in terms of Education Infrastructure and logistics supply as well as capacity Building of Teachers to help government in delivering of good and reliable education system.
The Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Education Director, Mr. Williams Kwaku Odoi applauded Pencils of Promise for the numerous assistance given the Municipality as well as the Krobo Land area in terms of Educational infrastructure, several Teaching & Learning materials as well as Teachers Capacity Building Trainings workshops organized for Teachers in the area.
The Education Director expressed his heartiest appreciation to the Non-governmental Organisation as he assured them of their maximum cooperation to do more that will benefit the future leaders of the country who are currently in the Basic Schools.
