For the Ghana National Association of Teachers to be vibrant and serve its intended formation ideology, the grassroots of the association must be effectively equipped at all levels. Says Mr. Harrison Mompi, GNAT Chairman, Asuogyaman.
He made this statement during a 1-day orientation program organized for elected district and local leaders of GNAT in the Asuogyaman District on Tuesday, June 6th, 2023, at Akrade Apostolic Church Auditorium.
Mr. Harrison Mompi will continue to assure the membership of the association in the Asuogyaman District of the current district leadership under his watch’s readiness to work harder to make the association very attractive in the Asuogyaman District by achieving 100% membership in the area.
He further stated that orientation programs like this are very important in union leadership since the well-vested facilitators always give the very best of information to the participants to help in delivering their day-to-day leadership as union members at the grassroot level, where the union must be safeguarded by all means.
Mr. Harrison Mompi, GNAT Chairman in the Asuogyaman District, donated an HP laptop to the Asuogyaman District office of GNAT to enable smooth administration activities in the district, as he pledged to do more in the near future.
The facilitators for the program were Kafui Kusife (Deputy Regional Secretary), Josephine Kyei Baffour (Asougyaman District Treasurer-GNAT), and Thomas Oppong Awuah (District GNAT Secretary, East Akim).
The very experienced team of facilitators on the day took the participants through the detailed structures of the union and the key roles they play as leaders at the grassroot levels.
The participants were empowered to at all times be responsible leaders to attract more new members to join the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT).
The Eastern Regional Secretary of the Union, Peter Kpakpo-Atsem, was the special guest of honor at the event, as he played an active role in equipping the newly elected union leaders with the relevant information they need to execute their mandate at all times.
He commended the efforts of the Asougyaman District Leadership of GNAT for putting together this all-important orientation, which is aimed at equipping them to effectively discharge their mandate.
