Friday, July 25th, 2025 – Bright Future Academy, one of the leading private basic schools in the Yilo Krobo Municipality, climaxed its 20th Anniversary celebrations with a grand durbar that brought together key stakeholders who have played significant roles in the school’s two-decade journey.

The colourful ceremony was graced by parents, education officials, traditional leaders, past and present staff, alumni, and community members, all gathered to honour the school’s remarkable progress and commitment to quality education.

In her keynote address, Ms. Wilhelmina Narteh, Founder of Bright Future Academy, expressed deep gratitude to all who have supported the school’s vision over the years—especially her immediate family and close friends who stood by her during the difficult early days.

She emotionally recounted how the school began with the simple act of caring for one student under the roof of her private residence, a commitment that laid the foundation for what has now grown into a reputable institution with over 500 students.

“Seeing this dream come to life under my watch and guidance brings me immense joy and fulfillment,” Ms. Narteh shared. “It inspires me to continually thank all past and present teachers and administrators who have contributed to Bright Future Academy’s journey. I remain optimistic that the future will shine even brighter than our current glories.”

She reaffirmed her personal commitment to continue shaping the future of the next generation through quality education and mentorship.

Mr. Jonas Tetteh Numo, who chaired the event, commended the founding team and successive administrators for their tireless efforts in nurturing the school over the past 20 years. He encouraged parents and guardians to remain actively involved in the school’s development, emphasizing the need for collective responsibility in building a strong educational foundation for Krobo Land and beyond.
Adding his voice, Mr. John K. Gasu, Yilo Krobo Municipal Education Director, applauded the management and staff of Bright Future Academy for their sustained excellence. He assured the school of continued support from the Education Directorate through capacity-building initiatives and collaborative engagements, aimed at strengthening the institution’s future.

“Two decades of consistent impact is no small feat,” Mr. Gasu said. “We will continue to support your growth with training and resources to keep moving from strength to strength. Congratulations on your 20th Anniversary.”

As part of the celebrations, several graduating classes were honoured in well-organized graduation ceremonies, while outstanding students and teachers received special recognition awards for academic excellence, dedication, and service.

The durbar served not only as a celebration of Bright Future Academy’s legacy but also as a renewed commitment to its mission: nurturing a brighter future, one child at a time.
