On Friday, February 21, 2025, Mr. Emmanuel Bosompim, the administrator of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Hospital in Agormanya, convened a roundtable stakeholders meeting at the hospital’s conference hall. The gathering included representatives from traditional leadership, religious organizations, transport unions, and artisan groups. The primary focus was to discuss the hospital’s operational challenges and future plans.

Mr. Bosompim highlighted a significant concern: over the past three years, patients absconding without settling their medical bills have led to an accumulated debt of GHC 536,050.65. This financial strain has adversely affected the hospital’s development projects and overall service delivery.

In response, he appealed to stakeholders to assist in the hospital’s transformation agenda. He urged community leaders to utilize their platforms to educate the public on the importance of fulfilling financial obligations after receiving medical care.

Additionally, Mr. Bosompim emphasized the critical need for blood donations. He called upon stakeholders to support and promote the hospital’s blood donation campaigns, noting that a readily available blood supply is vital for emergency health interventions.

Regarding infrastructure, updates were provided on several ongoing projects, including a new conference room, a store complex, and an oxygen plant. These projects are in their final stages, with some expected to be completed and commissioned soon.

Looking ahead, the hospital announced its annual Free National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) registration and renewal event, scheduled for March 6, 2025, at the hospital premises. This initiative aims to give back to the community by facilitating access to healthcare services.

Asafoatse Katika Tettey Etti II of the Akwenor Division commended the hospital’s management and staff for organizing such an informative engagement. He emphasized the value of these sessions in fostering transparency and understanding between the hospital and the communities it serves. He also encouraged the hospital to hold such meetings regularly to keep the community informed about its operations.

This collaborative approach aims to address the hospital’s challenges through community involvement and support, ensuring the continued delivery of quality healthcare services in the region.
