Exactly a year ago, Nene Sakite II, Konor of Manya Krobo Traditional area launched the Manya Krobo Covid-19 Emergency Fund in a short ceremony held at the Conference center of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Zimmermann Congregation-Odumase-Krobo.
The Fund which was managed by selected people from different backgrounds by the Overlord of the Manya Krobo Traditional area, raised Money, footstuffs and several PPE’s from individuals and cooperate bodies to support institutions and individuals both in the Lower Manya Krobo and Upper Manya krobo Districts during the epic times of the Covid-19 pandemic in Ghana in the 2020.
Cooperate agancies Like the Volta River Authority and Ministry of Railway Development under the leadership of the former railway minister, Hon. Joe Ghartey among others also donated PPE’s and cash among to support the fund.
The office of the Former President of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. John Dramani Mahama also donated PPE’s, foodstuffs and cash to the fund.
The Manya Krobo Traditional Council under the able leadership of Nene Sakite II seeded the Funds with GHC 50,000.00 as upfront payment of GHC 22,000.00 was made on the day of official Launching of the fund.
Nene Sakite II, on that day sworn into office 11 member Fund management committee selected from Lower Manya Krobo Municipality and Upper Manya krobo District.
