The Yilo Krobo Municipal Education Directorate, in collaboration with Inspire Today, a non-governmental organization, together with their partners on Friday, October 11th, 2024, celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child with girls drawn from both public and private schools in the Yilo Krobo Municipality at Yikrosec.
The colorful ceremony was graced by great personalities from the Krobo Land area and beyond who used their life experiences to motivate and educate the upcoming young girls.
Etornam Sey, executive director of Inspire Today, addressing the gathering of girls, appealed to them to focus on their education for now since that’s the best way they can achieve their dreams in the near future and become responsible citizens.
All the girls present at the celebrations received items ranging from sanitary pads, soaps, and washing powder, among others, and several reading books from Step Publishers, one of the main partners of Inspire Today.
Dr. Dr. Nene Terkpertey II, Sipim of Manya Aklomuase, who was the Chairperson of the Program, used the opportunity to advise the girls gathered to focus only on the important things in their lives now, which key among them all is their education since the future of this community is in their hands and they must work hard to make the Krobo Land great and Mother Ghana proud in the near future.
