The National Identification Authority (NIA) is set to issue 3,875,441 printed cards to Ghanian applicants.
The distribution exercise which is slated from Monday, June 8 to 16 is expected to take place concurrently at all 5,635 registration centers across the 16 regions.
This was contained in a news release issued by the head of Corporate Affairs, Francis Palmdeti.
According to the statement, the nationwide card issuance blitz will enable 11, 062,850 Ghanaians to posses Ghana cards in good time to be used for vouching for their relatives or there Ghanaians who wish to register during the mop up registration exercise which will commence on June 18, and end in mid September 2020.
Mr. Palmdeti said the card will also enable persons in posssesio of tjr Ghana card to use it for other mandatory purposes stated in the National Identify Registration, 2012 (LI 2111), including registering voter AMD vouching for others as voter and vouching for others as Ghanaians.
He indicated that in the course of the exercise, the NIA will make available adequate PPE’s for all field pfficers.
“All registration centers will be equipped with the requisite resources to ensure the effective observance of all prescribed health and safety protocols”, the statement added.
