Nene Odjidji I, Chief of New Somanya resettlement community in the Eastern Region applause the current leadership of the VRA Resettlement Trust Fund for the infrastructure transformation given the area within the past few years.
Nene Odjidji made this statement during the official Commissioning ceremony of the newly renovated 8-Unit Classroom Blocks with ancillary facilities for the New Somanya Methodist Basic School held on Wednesday 28th July, 2021.
The chief in his statement stated under that the past administrations of the trust fund, they felt neglected due to the infrastructure deficit but the current leadership has responded to their cry and acted with urgency as they provided them with a modern Police Post for security, a 6-Unit Teachers Bungalow for teachers in the community and now the renovation of the heavily dilapidated classroom blocks which before pose high risk to both the teachers and the learners.
Nene Odjidji used the opportunity to expressed his heartiest appreciation appreciation to the Executive Director of VRA Resettlement Trust Fund, Mr. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng whose leadership has led to the Partnership of the VRA Resettlement Trust with Pencils of Promise which gave birth to this modern edifice.
On behalf of the good people of the New Somanya Resettlement community, Nene Odjidji assure to take good care of the infrastructure development given them for the best interest of their people.
Mr. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng addressing the gathering appeals to them to take good care of the infrastructure investments made in the community which will attract more interest from Non-governmental organisation like Pencils of Promise to boost the developmental agenda for the 52 Resettlement Communities in the country.
He continued to expressed his heartiest appreciation and on behalf of the Board and Management of the VRA Resettlement Trust Fund to their partners from Pencils of Promise under the able leadership of Mr. Free Gobah for responding to their partnership request which is transforming the lives of people living in the Resettlement communities in the country.
Mr. Freeman Gobah, Country Director of Pencils of Promise reaffirm their commitment to keep supporting the education and sanitation sectors of the country as he called on stakeholders to support their efforts by cooperation and collaborating with them which makes the execution of their initiatives easy in their target communities.
Hon. Ebenezer Tetteh Kupualor, MCE for Yilo Krobo Municipality assured the leadership of both the VRA Resettlement Trust Fund and Pencils of Promise and other Non-governmental organisations of continues support from the Municipal Assembly for smooth execution of their developmental initiatives which is a great support to the government.
