A delegation led by Professor Jonathan N. Ayertey, Council Chairman of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development , Somanya has paid a courtesy call on the Konor of the Manya Krobo Traditional area, Nene Sakite II, to officially inform him about the commencement of academic activities of the University.
Among the entourage was Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson, Vice Chancellor of the University who told the overlord of Manya Klo that series of commencement activities had already gone on weeks before.
Nene Konor applaud the Leadership of the only Public University in the Krobo Land area for the series of efforts they have put together to see the smooth commencement of academic activities.
Nene Sakite II, further assured the management of the University of his full cooperation and support to sustain this historic Institution being the first public University in the Krobo Land area.
He continued to adviced the management to cooperate and partner the Local stakeholders in the area like the MMDA’S and their respective MMDCE’S, Traditional Leaders, Opinion Leaders and some other key stakeholders as well as the general public which will be of great help to the smooth administration of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development, Somanya for the progress of the institution.
Nene Sakite II concluded by assuring the visiting delegation of his willingness to award the best perform Student by the end of the first 4 years of studies a full scholarship for further studies in the United States of America.
Prof. Jonathan N. Ayertey on behalf of the delegation from the University expressed their heartiest appreciation to the Over Lord of the Manya Krobo State for the warmth reception and the words of wisdom which he knows when put in to actions it will help in the administration of the University.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson assured Nene Sakite II and all his elders gathered of their commitment to work closely with all the stakeholders in the Krobo Land area for the betterment and development of this New and first Public University in the Krobo Land area.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality who was part of the meeting also in his brief speech assured the management of the University of full cooperation from the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly for the smooth administration of the Institution.
