The Municipal Chief executive for the Lower Manya Krobo, Simon Kweku Tetteh on Thursday 18th June, 2020 paid a working visit to some Senior high schools in his Municipality ahead of schools reopening for the final years and Gold track students.
The MCE and his team visited Krobo Girls SHS, Akro Tech. SHS and Makrosec.
The working visit was to afford him the opportunity to ascertain the level of preparedness of the schools as the students return to school in the Corona virus pandemic crisis period.
The headmistress of Krobo Girls Senior High said the school is poised to welcome the final year students as well as the Gold track 2nd year SHS Students.
She indicated they are ready to adhere strictly to the laid down public health protocols and other Government directives for the safety of the Students, Teachers and the Management of the School as they have allocated a room in the school which will serve as the holding room in case of any suspected Corona virus cases.
In regards to the strict adherence to the use of Nose masks which is now mandatory, the Management of the School have provided visible posters with the inscription ‘NO MASK ON ENTRY’ at all the vantage points in the school.
Mr. Philip N. Donkor, Headmaster of Akro Tech. SHS stated that despite the infrastructure challenges, they are very ready to host the students since they have made other alternative arrangements such as acquiring the Manya Krobo Community Centre building at Lassi to the used by the school to help meet their required number of Classrooms and accommodation facilities to smoothly run.
He continued to inform the Hon. MCE of the School’s Management has met with the Domestic bursar of the School and her Catering staff to discuss how best to provide high nutritious meals for the Students during their stay since that will help in improving their immune systems to fight against the Corona virus.
The headmistress of Makrosec, Mrs. Agnes Nanor Narteh has also expressed readiness to host the students as the Management of the School under her leadership has initiated several emergency projects to adequately host the number of students who will all have to be boarding students due to the Corona virus crisis.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh assured the management of all the School he visited of the Municipal Emergency health committee under his leadership readiness to support them during this critical times in the best interest of the future leaders of Ghana who are the current student beneficiaries of the ruling NPP government’s free SHS policy.
