The Ghana National Association of Garment and Dressmakers, Lower Manya Chapter, has paid a courtesy call on Hon. Atteh John Matey, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality. The purpose of the visit was to officially introduce the Association to the MCE and extend a hand of partnership to help reduce streetism and unemployment by training more youth in valuable fashion design skills.

Led by their Chairperson, Madam Vivian Owusu, the delegation presented a citation to Hon. Atteh John Matey in recognition of his dedication to youth and community development. The Association also used the opportunity to appeal to the Hon. MCE to facilitate the construction of a dedicated training centre to enhance their operations and impact.

In a related development, the Hon. MCE also received a delegation from the Ghana Association of Hairdressers, Lower Manya Chapter. The group, led by its Chairperson, Madam Juliana Korkor Narh, congratulated Hon. Matey on his continued leadership and appealed for support from his office to boost their vocational initiatives.

In response, Hon. Atteh John Matey expressed his appreciation to both associations and assured them of his full cooperation and support. He emphasized the crucial role of vocational training in reducing unemployment and urged them to take full advantage of the President’s flagship Apprenticeship Programme, which is designed to equip the youth with employable skills for a self-sufficient future.
