Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality assured the Municipal Education Directorate of more government support to enable them deliver their mandate especially in this pandemic period.

The Hon. MCE made this statement during a stakeholders engagement organised by the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Education Directorate on Monday 15th January, 2021.

Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh lauded the efforts of the Municipal Education Directorate and the Municipal Health Directorate for the selfless services they are rendering to safeguard the lives of the pupils and teachers as well as the general public in this health crisis period.

Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh used the opportunity to appeal to the general public to be responsible stakeholders in the fight against Covid-19 since the health crisis doesn’t respect anyone.

Mr. Odoi Kweku Williams, Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Education Director in his address indicates that the Directorate has taken delivery of several PPEs from government and have onwardly distributed them to both public and private institutions in the Municipality.

He continued to say that currently the Education Directorate and the Health Directorate are closely working together to manage the few cases of Covid-19 record in some of Senior high schools in the area.

Mr. Solomon Ohene Gyabaah, Municipal Disease control officer in his report to the stakeholders stated that, since January, 2021 up to date the Municipality has recorded 55 Covid-19 cases with 38 out of that number from 3 Senior high Schools in the Municipality.

Mr. Ohene continue to say that most of the people affected have recovered whiles the few people left at the Municipal Isolation center are all in good health.
He concluded by appealing to the general public to strictly adhere to the laid down public health protocols to help reduce the infection rate in the area.

The Odumase-krobo District Police Commander, Supt. Doris Akua Hukporti addressing the stakeholders appeals to the traditional leaders and other opinion leaders in the area to join the sensitization campaign since the government agencies can not do it alone.

Supt. Doris Akua Hukporti advice the general public to strictly adhere to the laid down public health protocols especially wearing of Nose masks since it any offense to be in public without your mask on

Nene Teye Adjiso III, a sub Divisional chief in the Manya Klo Traditional Area and a renowned educationist who chaired the meeting applaud the Municipal Education Directorate for putting this all important meeting together with their stakeholders to discuss this very important issues in this crisis times.

Nene Sackite II, Konor of Manya Krobo Traditional area through the Manya Krobo Covid-19 Emergency Fund donated some Veronica Buckets and other PPEs to the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Education Directorate.
