On Monday, November 25, 2024, the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, alongside Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality and NPP Parliamentary Candidate, officially commissioned the 188 Lockable Market Stores Project at the Agormanya Market.
The project, executed under the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme, represents a significant step in the NPP government’s efforts to transform the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality. This initiative is part of the broader developmental agenda spearheaded by Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, whose leadership has brought key infrastructural improvements to the municipality.
During the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah commended Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh for his efficient use of resources under the Secondary Cities Support Programme. He highlighted notable projects achieved under his tenure, including the ultramodern Business Advisory Centre located at the Municipal Assembly premises and the construction of critical inner roads such as the Atua Government Hospital road, which had been a significant challenge for residents.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, addressing the audience, assured traders of a fair and transparent allocation process for the newly constructed market stores, emphasizing priority for traders who were displaced during the construction phase. He described the project as part of the ongoing transformation of the Agormanya Market into a modern trading hub and reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the community’s development needs.
In his remarks, Hon. Tetteh urged the people to support him and the NPP Presidential Candidate, H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the upcoming general elections on December 7, to sustain the momentum of progress in the municipality.
Nene Agbau Narh IV, the Djebiam Divisional Chief, representing HRM Nene Sakite II, Konor of the Manya Krobo Traditional Area, praised the NPP government for addressing critical infrastructure challenges in the area. He acknowledged Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh’s leadership for driving transformative development in Lower Manya Krobo.
This commissioning marks a significant milestone in the municipality’s efforts to modernize local infrastructure and improve the lives of its residents.
