Breaking news reaching mybrytfmonline.com indicates that six Journalists in the Eastern region have been involved in a near-fatal accident on Akyem Oda to Akyem Asene road.
The accident occurred Wednesday evening on Adim River when they were returning from a press conference at Akyem Akokoaso in Akyemansa District in the Eastern Region amidst heavy rainfall in the area.
The Journalists onboard the Toyota Matrix private were Neil Nii Kenaku, Eastern Regional Correspondent for Citi FM/Citi TV were Michael Akrofi (Eastern Regional Correspondent for Peace FM), Jessie Amankwah of UTV, Kojo Ansah (Eastern regional Correspondent for EIB Network ), Kwasi Azor (Eastern Regional Correspondent for Adom FM/Adom TV ) and Emmanuel Pacome of Daily Graphic.
Mybrytfmonline.com has gathered that the driver lost control of the steering wheel after swerving a pothole.
The vehicle staggered and veered off the road, violently turned to the opposite side as it dragged towards the river but fortunately blocked by a huge pipeline and dangled on the edge of the bridge.
The traumatized Journalists quickly rushed out of the car to safety as residents troop to the scene to rescue.
None of the Journalists was however injured but the story would have been different if the car plunged into the river.
With the support of residents, a tipper truck pulled the vehicle to safety. After inspection, it was detected that no major damage was caused to the vehicle.
