Aya Afrika, None governmental organisation has donated 10 high spec Laptops worth 13,000 US Dollars, A brand new Generator and 2 Solar system batteries to Tsledom M/A Basic School in the middle belt of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.
Nene Kwesi Detse I, a Development Chief of the Manya Krobo Traditional area who doubled as the country director of Aya Afrika, addressing the gathering of citizens of Tsledom and its environs said because of the fast pace of technology advancement in the world now, they at Aya Afrika seems it to be a priority to extend this help hand to make sure pupils in Tsledom are not left behind in the studies of I.C.T.
He said due to that they have provided them not only the Laptops but also a Generator to be powering the Laptops since the area is not connected onto National electricity grid.
Nene Kwesi Detse I entreated the entire community as well as the GES, PTA and the SMC
to constantly monitor that the equipments are being put into good use which is the best way to attract more supports to enhance their standard of Living in the community.
He assured them of more equipments to ensure effective teaching and learning of ICT in the School since the ICT Laboratory which will be set up with the new Laptops will serve as e-library for the children in that rural part of the Municipality to have access to modern ways of learning.
Nene Kwesi Detse I and Aya Afrika had been supporting the Tsledom community since 2019 with several community support program where some students have received teaching and learning materials as well as school bags in the past.
In other community support programs, Nene Kwesi Detse I and Aya Afrika in the past also gave several families in the Tsledom community and its surrounding communities GHC 75.00 a month to support their livelihoods which the community applause him for his generosity.
A high Deplorable portion of the Oborpah Djikiti to Tsledom road which has been a headache of the good people of Tsledom has become motorable due to the 60 bags of cements support from Nene Kwesi Detse I which was used to concrete the bad portion of that stretch.
20 households as part of this donation received bags of rice and cooking oil among others as his way of supporting them in times of this global economic hardship.
Mr. Boafo Humphrey who represented the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Education Directorate of GES upon receiving the laptops on behalf of GES handed them over to the beneficiary School as he appeals to them to put the laptops into good use.
He used the opportunity to thank Nene Kwesi Detse I and Aya Afrika for all they have done for Education in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality in the past and for what they have done today as he assured them that their name will go down in the history of Education in the area.
Mr. Godfred Ceaser, former Lower Manya Krobo Municipal SHEP Coordinator who is now the Eastern Regional SHEP Coordinator and also a member of Aya Africa advice the School Leadership to take very good care of this very expensive investment made into the future of their pupils since that’s the best way to attract other donor supports to improve their living standards in the area.
Dadematse Atteh of Tsledom on behalf of the entire community expressed their heartiest appreciation to Aya Africa who have come to their aid in different ways since their pathetic stories hits the world in 2019 as he assured to continue to unite the community in the best interest of development.
Mr. David Teye, Headmaster of Tsledom M/A Basic School assured Nene Kwesi Detse I and Aya Africa that they put this massive support into good use to transform and improve Teaching and Learning of ICT in the School which will be clearly seen in their performance in the years to come.
