The management of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly, as part of their inclusive administration, held a community engagement meeting with the residents of the Kpong Resettlement community.
A delegation from the Assembly led by Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for the area, and Mr. Selorm Kwame Tibu, Coordinating Director at the Assembly, met the residents of Kpong Quarters to update them on what is happening in the municipality and take their inputs.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, addressing the gathering, took the opportunity to bring them up to speed with several developmental initiatives currently ongoing in the municipality under his watch.
He made mention of the 188 lockable market store projects at the Agormanya, the Modern Business Advisory Centre Project at the Municipal Assembly, some inner roads at Nuaso Newtown, as well as the 3 completed CHPS Compound projects in the Middle Belt of the Municipality among others.
He continued to disclose the outline plans of the Municipal Assembly for the good people of the VRA Resettlement community, Kpong.
Notable among them are the improvement of their road network within the quarters and also upgrading their Community Development Vocational Technical Institute, Kpong, to be able to absorb the current increase in enrollment due to the free TVET Program that the school has been added on to.
The residents put before the delegation from the Assembly their following concerns: they requested the leadership of the Municipal Assembly to further engage the contractors on the railway project to provide more railway level crossings for them to easily access their farm lands. They also requested an improved drainage system to solve their flooding problem in the resettlement community.
The Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality and the Management of the Municipal Assembly, assured them that their grievances would be addressed by the Municipal Assembly in the shortest possible time.
The Hon. Assembly Member for the Kpong Resettlement community, Hon. George Quarshie, on behalf of his electoral area, expressed their heartiest appreciation to the management of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly for making time to meet them and discuss the best ways of improving their standards of living.
