Hon. Dan Kweku Botwe, the minister designate for Local Government and Rural Development has assured officers of the National Ambulance Service that the painful lost of their colleague E. M. T. Abraham Tetteh who was shot and killed by armed robbers will not be in vain.
The Honourable Minister Designate who doubled as the MP for Okere Constituency made the statement when he visited the victims involved in the attack which saw the driver shot and killed.
Hon. Dan Kweku Botwe and Hon. Seth Acheampong, Eastern Regional Minister Designate on Thursday 11th February met with the officers of the National Ambulance Service at Somanya after a brief close door meeting with stakeholders at the Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly.
Hon. Seth Acheampong consoled the mourning colleagues of the late murdered driver encouraging them to remember paramedics are special life savers and for that reason Mother Ghana needs them.
The visiting government entourage proceeds to pay a private visit to the other E. M. T. Nurse on board who was harassed by the Army robbers.
The Hon. Eastern Regional Minister Designate, Hon. Seth Acheampong assured that Nurse of full government assistance to help her pull through this traumatized situation she is currently going through.
On the arrival of the entourage at the family residence of the murdered Ambulance Service driver at Tsopoli Saglemi in the Ningo Prampram District in the Greater Accra Region, the uncontrollable tears of the family and friends of the Late Abraham Tetteh tells the pain they are going through.
The government delegation led by Hon. Dan Kweku Botwe and Hon. Seth Acheampong commiserate with the family in this trying times.
Hon. Dan Kweku Botwe on behalf of Government expressed their deepest condolences to the bereaved family and the wife and children of the late E.M.T Abraham Tetteh who died in the line of duty to Ghana.
He assured them of full government support as discussion are currently at advance stage. Hon. Dan Kweku Botwe further made it clear to the family that the murder of their son will never be in vain since the painful incident is very evil.
Mr. George A. Tetteh, head of family of the late Ambulance Driver appeals to the security agancies and government to do everything within their capabilities to bring the perpetrators of this evil art to book.
He further appeals to the President of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to kindly take what happened to their Son as a wake-up call to provide some level of security for the E. M. Ts who risks their lives on daily basis to save lives of others before they start being reluctant to deliver their services due to fear for their lives.
The delegation ended the very busy day at Volivo Kotoko where the Visited Ms. Priscilla Otibo, the Young lady the National Ambulance was rushing to the Eastern Regional hospital before they met the unfortunate incident.
Both the baby and the Mother were in good condition at as the time of visit just that the Mother complains of high level of stigmatisation she is facing after returning to the community after the sad incident as she appeals for support.
