The Plau Division of the Yilo Krobo Traditional Area has set March 28th to 3rd April, 2022 for the Royal burial and final burial rites of the late Nene Tetteh Agbleze III, the Late Plau Divisional Chief.
The date and funeral arrangements was announced during a gathering organized by the Divisional Chief of the Plau, Nene Tetteh Djaba Agbleze IV and elders on Saturday 12th February, 2022 at the Royal Palace of the Divisional Chief in Somanya.
Nene Tetteh Djaba Agbleze IV addressing the gathering of his citizens, well wishers and the Press declared the Plau division in the Yilo Klo State from this day is not in normal times.
He said plans of the Royal send home of their late Chief and father who have given his all in the best interest of development in the coming months.
He appealed to his subjects and the general public to comply with the traditional arrangements put in place to give their late chief a befitting send home after his life well lived.
Nene Tetteh Djaba Agbleze IV announced that from the 14th of March to 10th April, 2022, the Traditional leadership in the Plau Division under his watch has placed a total ban on all funeral and its related activities as the period has been declared as a period of mourning of their late Chief.
Nene Tetteh Djaba Agbleze IV continue to state that on the 2nd of April when the late chief will be send home to finally rest with the Ancestors all market activities and other business activities in the Plau Divisional area will the put on hold as citizens and natives who will be found doing business on that day will be doing it at their own risk.
He further made it clear that the Somanya Roundabout Taxi Station will be hosting several activities during the Burial and funeral periods and due to that he is working closely with the Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly to relocate the operations of the Taxi drivers to the main Somanya Station for that period.
Nene Tetteh Djaba Agbleze IV in conclusion appeal to the Traditional, Administrative, Religious, Political leadership in the area as well as his subjects to help enforce this temporal directives in the best interest of exhibiting the beautiful and Royal send home of their Late Chief and father who have given his all in the line of service of his people and the Yilo Klo State.
Hon. Eric Tetteh, MCE for Yilo Krobo Municipality addressing the gathering assured the good people of the Plau Division of Maximum cooperation and support for a successful Royal Burial and final funeral rites.
He continue to use the opportunity to advice the gathering and the general public to strictly adhere to the laid down traditional directive for peaceful coexistence during the Royal Funeral period in the area.
Hon. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng, 2nd Vice Chairman of the NPP in the Eastern who is a proud son of the Yilo Klo State was present at this all important gathering as he also pledged maximum support for the up coming Royal funeral.
A big Funeral Bill Board in honor of the Late Chief and the upcoming Royal Funeral was unveiled at the Somanya Roundabout Taxi station in the Yilo Krobo Municipality.
