Two different dilapidated 6-units classroom block at Anyaboni Resettlement Community in the Upper Manya krobo District have been renovated by Pencils Of Promise, a Non-governmental organisation in partnership with VRA Resettlement Trust Fund.

The two Schools, Anyaboni Presby Basic School and Anyaboni R/C Basic School were both renovated into modern facilities with other ancillary facilities such as, decent places of convenience and a rain harvesting facility with a big Poly Tank provided.

Both projects were fully furnished with dual desks and Table and Chairs for the teachers as well as other office furnitures for other official uses.

The Country Director of Pencils of Promise, Mr. Freeman Gobah assured that the Organization under his watch will continue to do more to support the educational sector in the country.

He continued to say that just about five(5) of their operations in Ghana, they have Provide 181 completed Classroom blocks and 15 Classroom Block projects currently ongoing in the 3 Administrative regions that they’re currently working namely, Eastern Region , Volta Region and the Oti region.

Mr. Freeman Gobah stated that he hope to have the continuous cooperation and collaboration from the Upper Manya krobo District administration and the people in the communities for them to be able to continue to bring their other initiatives and Programs like the Teacher Support Programs, Provision of Electronic Teaching and learning materials as well as their several Sanitation programs.

He concluded by acknowledging the collaboration from their partners, VRA Resettlement Trust Fund as well as the good people of the Anyaboni community which saw the transformation of these 2 dilapidated Classroom block into modern classroom blocks with ancillary facilities for smooth and effective teaching and learning which will go a long way to raise the future leaders of the Anyaboni Community as well as Mother Ghana at Large.

Mr. Richard Twum Barimah, executive director of the VRA Resettlement Trust Fund expressed his heartiest appreciation to Pencils of Promise team for this outstanding partnership which is leading to massive infrastructure transformation in several of their Resettlement Communities around the country.


Mr. Twum Barimah further task the Leadership of the Anyaboni Community to own the project by practicing very responsible maintenance culture which is the best way to protect the investment made into these infrastructure projects which are for the community.

Mr. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng reaffirmed his commitment to keep working hard to better the lives of Resettlers in the 52 Resettlement Communities around the country.

Hon. Felix Nartey Odjao, DCE for the Upper Manya krobo District applaud Pencils of Promise, VRA Resettlement Trust Fund and the good people of Anyaboni for the dedication and commitment shown during the construction stages of these all important projects which has brought great relief to the District Assembly under his watch.

He continued to assure the good people of the Upper Manya krobo District that as he represents H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of Ghana in the area he will continue working tirelessly to address their development issues as he use the opportunity to appeal to other Non-governmental organisation to extend their developmental issues to the Upper Manya krobo area since the District under his able leadership is ever ready to Partner them and support them to achieve success in the area.

Hon. Felix Nartey Odjao calls on both Pencils of Promise and the VRA Resettlement Trust Fund to continue to support the Assembly to address some of their infrastructure lapses especially in the educational sector in the area.
