The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Eric Kwakya Darfour, has showered commendation on the management and staff of the Atua Government Hospital for contributing immensely to the fight against the COVID 19 pandemic.
The minister heap the praise yesterday when he accompanied Dr. Alberta A. Biritwum-Nyarko, Regional Director of Health Services to commission the 33 bed Covid-19 Isolation center at Atua Government Hospital in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.
The Atua Government Hospital 33 beds Isolation center which can be expended to 50 beds capacity Isolation center is the first in the entire region after the Regional health Directorate has directed all its District hospitals to dedicate and renovate one ward into an Isolation center to help in the fight against the Corona virus pandemic.
The facility currently having 33 beds is equipped to handle Covid-19 cases in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.
Dr. Alberta A. Biritwum-Nyarko after commissioning and inspecting the facility in a short ceremony applauded the hospital management under the able leadership of Dr. Adams Mahami, Medical Director of hospital who is also the Chief of Nadgo Traditional area in the North East Region.
Dr. Adams Mahami thanks the Regional health directorate and the Municipal Assembly for supporting them to achieve this success which puts them in better position to manage Covid-19 if incase any Corona virus case is being recorded in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for the area in an interview with www.krobolandonline.com after the commissioning appeals to his Frontline health workers and other frontline workers to still keep their guide on despite the area currently has no active case of the Covid-19.
He continued to assured the management of the Atua Government Hospital of support to run the Isolation center effectively. As he has already provided a mechanised borehole to supply water 24/7 to the Isolation center.
