According to the National Sports Authority (NSA), the update on the current state of Ghana Sports following the Presidential Directives issued on May 31, 2020 by President Akufo-Addo in the fight against COVID-19 indicates a partial restriction on sports in the country.

With the exception of sports events, competitions or games not involving spectators or fans, individual, non-contact events, sports can go ahead.
These may include the following;
Athletics, Badminton, Table Tennis,Tennis, Golf, Power lifting, Weight lifting, Cycling, Draughts, Para Sports (individual non contact para sports), Rowing and Canoeing, Baseball, Softball, Horse racing and Individual exercising within our stadiums.
On the other hand, contact sports including football, beach soccer, basketball, hockey and volleyball amongst others remain suspended till July 31, 2020.
Meanwhile, the growing concern of football lovers in Ghana continue to swell as it is still unclear when the 2019/2020 season will resume.
The football governing body in Ghana, GFA, is yet to address the major concerns of the sport lovers in the country.
