The Works and Housing Sector Minister, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye, in his statement during the commissioning and handing over of the Plau Community Mechanized Borehole With Overhead Poly Tank Project, which was fully funded by Hon. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng, commended him for this kind gesture and assured him of his maximum support.

The project, which was the third of its kind and funded by Hon. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng, 1st Vice Chairman of the NPP in the Eastern Region, was commissioned on March 10, 2023, during a short community durbar that saw a lot of dignitaries gather to witness the program.

Speaking at the program, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye stated that, despite the committed efforts of government, government alone cannot provide for all the needs of the people. That’s why efforts like this deserve massive recognition and support.

He continued to say that he is going to support this massive initiative of Hon. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng with another mechanized borehole with overhead poly tank project for another community, as he assured Hon. Twum of massive support from himself and other friends, as well as stakeholders in the country, on his committed mission to serve his people through job creation and the provision of relevant social amenities in the best interest of the good people of the Yilo Krobo Municipality and the entire Krobo Land area at large.

In concluding his speech, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye stated that before joining the commissioning gathering, he paid a courtesy visit to the Konor of Yilo Krobo Traditional Area, Oklepeme Nuer Anorbaa Sasraku II, at his palace in Sra, where they discussed several development issues, including drainage problems, road lapses, and mostly the infrastructure lapses that are affecting teaching and learning at Yikrosec in the Municipal Capital. He assured the gathering of chiefs, queen mothers, and the general public that he would take all these important issues to the higher offices for appropriate redress.

Hon. Jeff Konadu Addo, Eastern Regional Chairman of the NPP, who led the delegation of regional executives and other dignitaries from the Eastern Region to the commissioning program, applauded his 1st Vice Chairman for showing this great commitment to lead his people by providing and serving them at all times.

Hon. Jeff pledged that with immediate effect, he is ready to construct one of the mechanized boreholes with overhead poly tank projects for another community in the Yilo Krobo Constituency to support Hon. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng’s efforts to provide portable drinking water to all citizens in the Yilo Krobo Constituency, as he assured Hon. Twum of more support in his committed quest to serve his people, country, and God almighty.

Hon. Boakye Agyarko, former energy minister, who could have wished to be at the commissioning program but was out of town on an important assignment through a delegation of the NPP fraternity from the Lower Manya Krobo constituency led by Hon. Emmanuel Nuertey Siakwah, constituency chairman of the NPP, also pledged to give one mechanized borehole with overhead poly tank project for a community in Yilo Krobo to be decided by Hon. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng and his project management committee and the NPP fraternity in the area.

Nene Tetteh Agblezee III, Plau Divisional Chief in the Yilo Krobo Traditional Area, who chairs the program, recounted the several supports their own son, Hon. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng, has brought home to the good people of the Yilo Krobo Traditional Area, saying that the son who always brings home goodies and success deserves the support and prayers of his people, as well as protection from the gods of the land and God almighty.

On his own behalf and on behalf of the good people of Plau Division, he expressed his heartiest appreciation to Hon. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng for this kind gesture, which has so far provided portable drinking water for the good people of Klo Akwapem, Klo Agogo, and now the Plau Community. He also encouraged Hon. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng to continue with his good deeds for humanity, and God almighty will bless him with all his heart desires.
The Municipal Chief Executive for the Yilo Krobo Municipality, Hon. Eric Tetteh, used the opportunity to express his heartiest appreciation to Hon. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng for intervening in this special way to assist in providing water for the good people of his Municipality and for the numerous supports given to the NPP in the constituency as well.

Nene Amoatey Akpatsu Azza VI, Nyeweh Divisional Chief in the Yilo Krobo Traditional Area, led the traditional delegation from the Paramountcy to grace the occasion with their presence and words of encouragement.

After successful commissioning and handing over of the newly completed water facility, Hon. Richard Twum Barimah Koranteng and all the dignitaries present were shown Krobo hospitality as they all received quality Krobo beads to show appreciation from the good people of the Plau division in the Yilo Krobo Traditional Area.
