The management of Somanya Polyclinic in the Yilo Krobo Municipal Capital, Somanya, has dedicated resources and personnel to actively observing the Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities.

Mr. Tameklo Vincent, Administrator of the Polyclinic, addressing the gathering of clients of the facility and stakeholders, emphasized that their health facility is seriously concerned about the breast health care of our women and, due to that, a team of health professionals have been assigned to screen as many as possible women for breast cancer for free this month of October.

He continued to entreat all residents of Somanya and its environs to take advantage of their series of activities to mark this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month to get themselves screened.

Hannah Dankwah from the DHA also encouraged the women to go home and tell their families and friends about the Somanya Polyclinic’s free breast cancer screening program, which is helping to save lives.

Mad. Grace Djorbuah, head of the Maternity unit of the Polyclinic, gives detailed background, possible causes, and best practices to avoid getting breast cancer.

She used the opportunity to advise the women gathered to take advantage of these breast cancer awareness activities to get themselves screened but that, not withstanding, they must take their self-screening processes very seriously.

Preko, Principal Physician Assistant at the Somanya Polyclinic, called on all women in the Yilo Krobo Municipal Capital, Somanya, and its surrounding communities to come to their facility from now till the end of October, which is popularly called the Pink Month, to get their breast cancer status checked for free.
