Supt. Doris Akua Hukporti, Odumase-Krobo District Police Commander cautioned young adults to desist from hosting girls secretly which most at times raises alarm of kidnapping since is a criminal act.

She made the statement during a session of the education and sensitization initiative tour to Schools in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality as they engaged students and teachers of Mt. Mary Demo JHS.

The Students of Mt. Mary Demo. JHS received the information with shock as the District Commander further explained that both the boy and the girl in such case are offenders and the law will deal with them both according.

The educative initiative which was initially launched on Wednesday 12th May, 2021 at Odumase Forman Memorial Basic is intended to give education and sensitization to the next generation leaders of the Krobo Land area and Ghana at large who are currently in the Basic and Senior high schools.

A team from the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DVVSU) at the Odumase District Police Command took the students through various topics relating to Defilement, Rape, Incest, Indecent Assault, Unnatural Carnal Knowledge, Lesbianism, Juveniles, Child-Labour, Economics, Emotions among others.

The speakers from the Odumase District Police Command entreated the Pupils to report any issues of indecent assault among other violent crimes to the nearest Police Station since there are structures in the Police Service operations to protect them.

The very interactive session enable the students to have the opportunity to ask questions which majority were about sex related criminals and it related punishments.

Supt. Doris Akua Hukporti addressing the gathering of students and teachers adviced the Pupils to make their studies their major priority since that’s the only way some of them especially the girls can grow up to become responsible citizens to occupy high offices such as where she currently occupied as a female District Police Commander.

She further entreated the teachers to give good guidance to the students by assisting them in their academic activities as well as giving them proper social guidance.

The Headmaster of the School, Mr. Christian Mensah applause the Leadership of the Police Administration in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality for initiating this all important and educative exercise which will help in educating the students by making very important information available to the students which will help in avoiding some of the unfortunate circumstances that led to some students dropping out of school in the past.

He further appeal to the District Police Commander, Supt. Doris Akua Hukporti to make other times out of her busy schedules to be visiting their schools since that will help in guiding their students to a great future.

Supt. Doris Akua Hukporti in an interview with www.krobolandonline.com stated that this initiative becomes necessary despite their Limited resources as cases of domestic violence and other assault keep raising in the country which her command is not in exception.

He continued to assure that her Leadership will commit all efforts into this education initiative to help inform, educate and Empower the next generation leaders of the Krobo Land area and Mother Ghana.

Supt. Doris Akua Hukporti concluded by appealing to CSOs, Stakeholders, Opinion Leaders and the general public to support and partner the Odumase District Police Command on this special education initiative which is intended to educate and protect the future of the Children.
