Armed robbers have attacked and shot the Yilo Krobo Constituency Ambulance driver who was transporting a woman in labour with complications to the Eastern Regional hospital.
The sad incident occurred at Adukrom when the ambulance with registration Number GV 644-20 was on route from Akuse Government Hospital in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality in the early hours of Thursday 4th February, 2021.
The armed robbers robbed the driver and shot him in the head.
Both the pregnant woman in labour and the driver were rushed to Tetteh-Quarshie Memory Hospital after the sad incident but the driver was subsequently referred to Koler Bu Teaching Hospital for specialist care.
The Police has commenced investigation into the incident.
