An Optometrist with the Somanya Polyclinic in the Eastern Region, Dr. Mrs. Rita Danso, on Thursday, April 7, 2022, has donated a set of seventy-eight (78) school uniforms and about 180 Bibles to some selected pupils of the Odumase Presby Primary School.
The items were received on behalf of the pupils by Headmistress of the School, Mrs. Phyllis Makafui Yewoenao and Mr. Herman Ablade Adjase-Kodjo, Chairman of the School Management Committee (SMC).
Mrs. Yewoenao commended Dr. Mrs. Danso and her team for such wonderful gesture. She added that the school welcomes more of such collaboration from well-meaning individuals and organizations in the community to help improve the educational experience for pupils.
Dr. Mrs. Danso, who is also a Director of Divine Tetelestai Outreach Ministry, said her team felt the need to attend to both the physical and spiritual needs of the pupils after identifying a deficit during her regular school visits and eye screening programs for pupils in her line of duty as an Optometrist.
The event which took place at the school premises at Odumase-Krobo, was also witnessed by officials of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service including Mr. Stephen Nyade (Human Resource Director), Mr. Ebenezer Odjao (Language Coordinator), Mr. Prosper Dunyo (IPPD Coordinator), Mr. Sonny Mensah (Odumase-B School Improvement Support Officer) and Mr. Evans Tamatey (School Health Education Programme Coordinator).
