The Kwame Nguah family of Manya Krobo has rubbished claims that the queen mother of the Manya Krobo Traditional Area, Nana Aplam Koryo Piyogu has been destooled by the kingmakers.
According to the family, no such customary rite has been performed for the queen mother’s destoolment and remains the legally enstooled queen mother for the traditional council.
A press statement issued and signed by the family spokesperson, Mr. Clement Asare and copied to krobolandonline.com cautioned the Odumase council to desist from putting the good name of Manya Krobo, the Kwame Nguah family and in particular the paramount queen, Nana Aplam II in to gross disrepute whiles it also advised the general public to treat the news by the council with all the contempt it deserve.

PRESS STATEMENT ISSUED BY THE KWAME NGUAH FAMILY OF MANYA KROBO STATE ON THE PURPORTED DESTOOLMENT OF THE PARAMOUNT QUEEN OF MANYA KROBO IN THE EASTERN REGION OF GHANA.
Wednesday 27th May, 2020.
The attention of the Kwame Nguah family of Manya Krobo has been drawn to a press statement purportedly issued by the Odumase Council announcing the destoolment of Nana Aplam II. The Royal Family, hereby states emphatically that:
The allegations being levelled against Nana Aplam II which constitute the bases for the purported destoolment are baseless and logically flawed.
No destoolment rituals have been performed for Nana Aplam II, as has been erroneously put out by the Odumase Council, and therefore, no one can claim that Nana Aplam II has been destooled.
Nana Aplam II remains the lawfully enstooled Paramount Queen of the Manya Krobo State.
The family hereby cautions the Odumase Council to desist from putting the good name of Manya Krobo, the family and in particular the name of Nana Aplam II into disrepute.
The general public is hereby advised to disregard the said allegations and press statement issued by the Odumase Council with all the contempt they deserve as Nana Aplam II remains the Paramount Queen of the Manya Krobo Traditional Area.
